Methode Development Launches New Conductive Ink for Nanotech Applications at IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA 2015

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 16, 2015) - Methode Development Company (MDC), a Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI) company, will introduce its new conductive ink next week at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA tradeshow, Nov. 18-19, in Santa Clara, Calif. Methode's 9200 series of inkjet inks can be printed on a wide range of uncoated substrates for the printed electronics market, including various plastic films and uncoated plastic parts.

This new product expands Methode's ability to serve the Printed Electronics Markets with the latest ink and printing technology. The 9200 series of inks utilizes nano-sized particles that can be printed thinner, allowing for precise lines and spacing. In addition, the ink's surface tension and viscosities can be adjusted to work with any industrial printhead and a range of substrates.

"Our latest conductive ink offers excellent adhesion to non-porous substrates like PET films, as well as rigid plastic, coated films and papers," said Al Chiappetta, MDC general manager. "It also features lower resistance levels -- less than 50 milliohms per square. The 9200 ink series is one of our most innovative products, and we'll be able to expand our customers' reach into new application with this technology."

Along with its new 9200 series inks, Methode will also demonstrate its NP-200 printer which offers a 13 inch by 24 inch print area that is capable of printing on rigid or flexible substrates up to six inches thick and at resolutions as high as 5760 by 1440 DPI, or dots per inch.

The NP-200 complements the 9200 ink series, printing on films and rigid substrates, such as plastics components for which the 9200 series of inks are designed. Methode experts plan to demonstrate both products in tandem at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics USA tradeshow and can provide ongoing guidance and best practices for the use of the products.
