New Solution Based Program Designed to Get Customers Out of Their Lead-Acid Based Batteries

RICHARDSON, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2015) -  April 21, 2015 - Methode's Active Energy Solutions, a division of Methode Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: MEI), today announced the launch of its new "Lease & Buy Back" programs at Data Center World Global Conference 2015.

Referred to as GET THE LEAD OUT, these programs were designed to help customers' trade in their older lead-acid battery units for new, eco-friendly, lithium-ion UPS technology.

"One of the ways we can help consumers eliminate the risk associated with new technology integration is to offer a flexible lease program that also includes buy-back options for their existing equipment," said Emilie Stone, general manager of Methode Electronics' Active Energy Solutions.

The no risk, AC6000 buy-back program allows customers to receive credit on their lead-acid battery units and apply it towards a trade up to the all new AC6000 lithium-ion UPS.

"We've simplified the entire buying process with GET THE LEAD OUT, including the disposal of existing equipment in accordance with EPA regulations," Stone said. "Customers have a choice of either a three- or five-year lease, and units are fully warrantied and supported during the term of the lease, with complete ownership at lease end."

GET THE LEAD OUT is an ideal program for organizations interested in green, sustainable UPS technology.

"The all new AC6000 lithium-ion UPS has a strong reusability factor, can be cycled continually and supplement a data center's power draw from the battery and then recharge at a non-peak time," Stone concluded. "It's all part of our sustainability initiative and another way we're doing our part."
